When it comes to your smile, at Beacon Dental Group, we do all we can to work with you to keep it healthy and strong with regular cleanings and repairs. But it’s also important to us that you love your smile and are proud to show it off. Naturally, not all smiles are the way that we would like them. For this reason, the dental field has developed Invisalign a cosmetic dental practice that can enhance a person’s smile.

We have found it highly convenient for our patients to offer orthodontic services in our office. Orthodontics is a dental specialty that deals with diagnosing and treating misaligned bites and teeth. Typically, it is most common for teenagers to obtain orthodontic treatment, but it has become more and more popular for adults. Although adults want orthodontic treatment, most don’t want to deal with a mouth full of metal dental appliances to reach their goals.

If you are in the Boston, Massachusetts, area and have been wanting orthodontic work without a mouth full of metal, we are pleased to inform you that in our office, we offer Invisalign.

The Invisalign Treatment

To begin the Invisalign process, you will need to speak with one of our dental professionals to secure a treatment plan for changing your teeth and taking impressions. We take impressions of both arches of teeth. They are used to make official molds. At your consultation and preparation appointment for Invisalign, we will take a detailed dental history and examine your teeth to ensure orthodontic treatment is right for you.

Invisalign consists of custom-made, clear retainers made from the molds. The retainers are made of dental-grade plastic. Each set of retainers is to be worn for 2-4 weeks. During this time, the retainers will be putting slight pressure on the teeth to move them into place. Once it has been two to four weeks, we will switch out the set for another to continue the progress.

Predicting the exact time frame for Invisalign treatment depends on the severity of your teeth and what needs to be fixed. Generally, the Invisalign treatment lasts from 10-12 months.

What Can Invisalign Fix?

Invisalign, just like most orthodontic treatments, can change multiple characteristics of your smile, such as:

  • Overbites
  • Crossbites
  • Underbites
  • Crooked teeth
  • Overcrowded teeth
  • Close unwanted gaps between teeth
  • Bring teeth down from the gums

Many people think that Invisalign or braces will only enhance the appearance of one’s smile. Although this is true, orthodontic work will significantly improve the overall health of your smile and make it easier to keep it clean and healthy.

During Treatment

Invisalign is very popular among our adult patients at Beacon Dental Group due to the retainers being invisible. Most worry when needing orthodontic treatment that they will need to have traditional metal braces, so they refuse treatment. With Invisalign, we give every patient the ability to change their smile while staying confident professional and without drawing unwanted attention to their smile.

It is important while undergoing treatment that the retainers are worn for a minimum of 22 hours a day, only removing them to eat, drink, brush and floss. This is a significant benefit when comparing Invisalign to traditional braces. Removable retainers allow better cleaning of the teeth and foods are not limited.

Each patient is different and requires a different treatment plan to obtain their goals. We will design your treatment plan entirely for you.

We offer Invisalign treatments at our office for all residents in the Boston, Massachusetts, area. If you have been considering orthodontic treatment, please come in and see us or give us a call to serve you!
